Jamie S found the Fort Lauderdale Big Book Study Group podcast one day as he was driving. He started listening, and heard the first 30 episodes in about a week. Within a month he had listened to all 86 episodes of the study. At Christmas Dinner 2019, he mentioned to some members in his local area that he had an interest in starting a Primary Purpose Big Book Study once he retired. Several of those in attendance suggested the meeting start sooner, and in his home. The Lewisburg Primary Purpose Big Book Study Group was born.
Our first meeting was held on January 7, 2020 in the home of Jamie Santana. There were 13 in attendance. We were very successful for the first ten weeks of our book study. Then the US was hit with COVID-19. At that time we agreed to suspend the meeting for a few weeks.
On approximately March 25, 2020, Jamie attended his first zoom meeting, and started finding ways to resume this group on zoom. On April 6, 2020 we re-opened as a hybrid meeting. Our hybrid format started with a laptop with one additional monitor so everyone in attendance could see each other. We remained hybrid for approximately another 11 weeks. Due to the rise in Covid-19 cases, the in person members were not comfortable meeting in a zoom/hybrid format so they decided not to attend any longer and went their own way.
