About Us

In Memory – Rick Walsh
1960 – 2021

Lewisburg Primary Purpose Big Book Study Group began as a bricks and mortar group in January 2020.   Group Founder Jamie S met Rick W in a zoom meeting and they struck up a friendship, leading to a partnership in the book study beginning June 8, 2020.  Rick’s memory and soul continue to shine on through his dream of this website for the group.  His vision of the website began as a way to reach more people with the message of Alcoholics Anonymous.  It has become so much more.  His work on the history page brings A.A. to life as it began, and we get to witness as A.A. grew.  Rick’s love for A.A. history is evident in this page. The media page allows our members to listen to our study over and over again.  The speakers page allows our group members to share their journey in sobriety.

Knowing Rick has been a blessing.  His soul continues to live on in the message the website carries.  May his vision, this website, bless your recovery.

Moving Forward into the Next Chapter

Wanting to carry on with the vision that Rick and Jamie had for this group, after Rick’s passing, we had to have a pathway to do that.  So very grateful that Trish has stepped into the role and void that Rick’s passing left.  Trish has served not only as facilitator of the group, as well as many other duties, but has also become the webmaster.  She continues to carry on with podcasting and our overall vision that is Lewisburg Primary Purpose Big Book Study Group.  As we continue to grow, God continues to put more vision on our hearts of how to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous.  We continue not only through our regular meetings in this vision, but also through our specialty workshops such as our Foundations Meeting and our Fourth Step Workshop.  None of this would be possible without the tireless hours, love, and dedication that Trish has put into our group and carrying the message.

I would like to thank all who serve in our group

If you or your group are interested in our specialty workshops, you can email us at LPPBBSG@gmail.com  We would be happy to discuss arrangements with you.

Lewisburg Primary Purpose big book study Group Mission Statement

To carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous  through our group. To carry our message to treated and untreated alcoholics and to help them find the spiritual solution outlined in our basic text and to join the first 100 and become “recovered”. There is NO cure for alcoholism but we can become recovered with the A.A, Big Book and 1940’s style Big Book sponsorship that is the purpose of this group.

May you join us on the Road of Happy Destiny.
